I had a date last weekend.
It was something new.
Not a fine dining, shopping nor a movie date.
‘Twas a kind of a date that I never tried before.
Yes, I had a date last weekend
A simple yet an extraordinary one.
I had a date.
At the cemetery, I had a date...

It’s a picnic at the cemetery!
Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes’ Cemetery) was our dating place last weekend. We shared our time with those who died in World War II, particularly the veterans of death march. We took a cab from SM Makati, where we bought our foods for picnic, to Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City where the Libingan ng mga Bayani is located.
Since we both appreciate silence and somberness once in a while, we knew we’ll enjoy the place. Along with the marble headstone crosses, trees and heroes who were buried there, we took the pleasure of being in each other’s company. The place was so silent that I can hear my beau’s thoughts through his heart. It was a perfect place to share someone else’s thoughts.
Not everyone will agree with me to consider this place as a sweet spot for rendezvous. And I ain't promoting it either, because I don’t know really if dating is allowed at Libingan ng mga Bayani. Maybe we’re just lucky that the security guard didn't catch us. Or maybe the sign was there, just for the sake of being there. I don’t know.
