My Best of Summer 2013

Philippines has only two season - dry and wet. Wet season happens during rainy days and dry season happens during summer. As a traveler, summer for me is synonymous to beaches, mountains, and FUN! Yes, I was out the whole time, I was either swimming, trekking, or organizing events. Let me share the highlights of my 2013 summer. Read on...

the only flower among the thorns, we traversed three mountains of Zambales

Zambales Triple Traverse - If there’s a time that I told myself “I had enough of mountains” it was after this climb. When we climbed and traversed three mountains in three days. Our initial plan is to take Mt. Cinco Picos and Mt. Balingkilat traverse to Nagsasa Cove but all of a sudden we were directed to a really different route. Instead of climbing two mountains, our patience and endurance were  tested by three! We traversed Mt. Cinco Picos, Mt. Dayungan, and Mt. Bira-Bira!

view from the highest peak of Hundred Islands
Hundred Islands - I have been receiving a lot of invites to visit Hundred Islands in the province of Pangasinan but I took ‘em all in a stride thinking that the place will not provide me something spectacular. I am not a fan of places where tourists usually flock. One day however, I found myself atop Governor’s island sucking up the overwhelming beauty of the place.

PTBs at Puzzle Mansion in Tagaytay
Meeting PTBs at Puzzle Mansion - I haven’t attended any PTB meetups or gathering before but I have long been longing to meet some personalities behind travel domains. So one day in a secluded and peaceful town away from the business area of Tagaytay City, I bonded with some Pinoy Travel Bloggers in a guesthouse called Puzzle Mansion Bed and Breakfast. A place that not only give views to luscious hills and endless rows of pineapples but also housed the biggest puzzle collections in the world.

The three highest peaks of Luzon
Luzon Extreme (Luzon 321) - As if I didn't get enough body pain from Zambales Triple Traverse CLimb climb that I even dare to organize Luzon 321. This triple peak climb is no ordinary quest. It is for those who wants to test how far they can go, how much they can take, and how long their patience is. In our search for the higher ground, we went out and pursued the  three highest peaks of Luzon - Mt. Timbak Traverse (3), Mt. Tabayoc (2), and Mt. Pulag (1) via Tawangan-Ambangeg trail.

Kawasan Falls, the most famous falls in Cebu
Cebu Adventure - I climbed the highest peak of Cebu, I visited the most famous falls of the province, I played with snakes, I ride a crocodile - if you think that is not enough, I ALSO SWAM WITH THEIR WHALE SHARK! That Cebu trip was really fun. Too much hoopla. Great delights! Ohhhhhh my Cebu trip was the best of the best summer adventures/trips I had.
